Last day

Started in Oregon and finished the day in Kirkland, Washington!

Parking with the big boys at the rest stop.

Oregon trail:

Stopped at a model of Stonehenge along the Columbia River.

This was built as a memorial to WWI deaths.

Hang gliders catching a breeze.

And then we arrived at our daughter's home. Wonderful to be here.

Buhl, Idaho

The Hagerman Rest Area has a nifty wildlife viewing area.

This screen leads to a hidden viewing spot.

The birds don't even know you are there.

Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls, Idaho

Not too shabby.

Evel Knievel jumped from here:

Beverly and I met a guy on the road. I'll let you figure out who is Bev, who is me and who is the guy. On the road too long.

Today for the first time a trucker flashed their lights to say "Go ahead and pull in, you have passed me." I mentioned this to Beverly who said that's because I smiled at him......
Which begs the question, how long has my wife been smiling at truckers?

Mid week middle of nowhere, nobody around

Quiet campground on Rt. 84.

Canyonlands

Best campsite yet and the park was breathtaking. First time camping in BLM areas. It reinforced the idea of buying toys. ATVs and mountain bikes everywhere.
Here are some photos:

Dead Horse Point

Love the name of the campsite - Horse thief Campground.

View out the camper window.

Venus at sunset.

A sad posting

A sad note today. Look at this photo carefully:

This bag of M&Ms was purchased at a Webster Wegmans 10 days ago.
What does this say about me?
Why hasn't this bag been opened after a week and a half?
Why don't M&Ms talk to me like they used to?
Will the sound of M&Ms being poured into a glass bowl no longer be the best sound in the world?
Have I finally become too old?
Have we simply been on the road for too long?

My favorite photo so far

Canyonland National Park rangers and Beverly.

Need your vote.

Which camper should be our next purchase?

Quick post - from Canyonlands

Today's view from Canyonlands, more to come. Amazing.

Toys

These folks have toys. Mountain bikes, motorized dirt bikes, aggressive atvs and dune buggies.  There is fun to be had in the desert.

The four VWS are together, a single guy, two couples and a single 70 year old woman. I asked, "What do you folks do?"
He said, "We drive dune buggies in the desert and drink beer."
We will be joining them next year.

Arches National Park

We boarded the dog at a local vet and then we were free to explore the park as we wished.
Here are a variety of photos, no captions necessary.
